Here at SONDR®, we believe that every business, large or small, should take responsibility for their carbon footprint and give back to the environment as much as they can. This is exactly why we are a proud member of Ecologi, a Bristol-based company with a mission to remove 50% of the global carbon footprint by 2040.

What Does It Mean to Be A ‘Carbon Positive Workforce’?

In a nutshell, a climate positive workforce is where an organisation offsets more carbon than it produces. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we can compensate for our carbon footprint as a business, offsetting emissions from each of our employees both inside and outside of work hours. This includes:

·      Home living

·      Personal & business travel

·      Holidays

·      Food

·      Hobbies

How Does It Work?

Planting Trees

As most of us are already aware, one of the most effective ways to tackle climate change is through reforestation. Each month, we fund the planting of at least 12 trees per employee every month in Madagascar, Nicaragua, and Mozambique. Not only does this help the environment, but it also helps support communities and reduces poverty by employing local workers.

To date, we have already planted hundreds of trees as a business and we’re still counting.

Carbon Reduction

Every month, we invest money into projects that remove more greenhouse gasses than our own carbon footprint puts in. These carbon reduction projects are certified at the very highest level by Gold Standard and equivalent.

We Support the Best Climate Solutions

We're proud to support and fund the world’s best climate crisis solutions by joining forces with Ecologi. This includes the following environmental projects around the world:

·      Reforestation

·      Small scale onshore wind in India

·      Protecting lowland peat forest in Indonesia

·      Producing electricity from solar energy in Vietnam

·      Producing energy from waste rice husks in India

·      Cleaner cookstoves in Zambia and Ghana

·      Protecting old-growth rainforests in Peru

To put this into perspective, our 35.29 tonnes of carbon reduction are equivalent to one of the above.
