Old Creamery are a furniture retailer with several stores located in the South West of England. Their existing eCommerce website was starting to show it's age, and with the advent of repeated COVID-19 lockdowns over 2020, it was an ideal time to focus on a revised website user proposition with renewed vigour and vision.
User Experience Design
We started from the position that this project required a very high level of attention paid to a mobile-first design approach. Together with our development partner agency Iconography, we set out to create a contemporary, user-centric, fully mobile-optimised customer journey. Taking inspiration from popular applications, both from within and outside of the furniture industry, we developed a new graphic user interface and asset suite to enhance the overall aesthetic look of the Old Creamery site. The style revitalisation added a lot to the visual look of the site however there were core issues that still needed addressing, such as a disconnected tone, lack of information taxonomy, and overall site flow. Using data from analytics sources already set up by the SEO team at SONDR®, including Moz and GA, we restructured the fundamental site architecture which ultimately lead to recommending a new navigation system be implemented. These front and backend changes will have a dramatic affect on user interaction with the site, leading to a better experience for the customer and a better CCR for the Old Creamery.
The new site is due to launch in Q2 2021.
